A Sustainable Business

Rational Energies is dedicated to the sustainable production of transportation fuels. Our business model is economically sustainable because we use low cost waste materials and produce high value products. This means we do not require government operating subsidies or mandates for the use of our product. We are ecologically sustainable because we have developed a production process that, once started, relies on its own internally generated energy to power its production process. In addition, our process actually produces water as a bi-product so we consume very little water from outside sources and we generate minimal water discharge. 

Finally, unlike garbage incinerators, flame never touches garbage in our production process. We are instead a waste reprocessor, processing waste to recapture raw materials that we then convert to high performance clean diesel fuel. We are socially sustainable because we offer an environmentally friendly use for garbage other than burning or landfilling. The jobs we create are good paying and will never be exported overseas.

In America, we depend on energy to sustain our economy and our way of life. That’s OK. Using energy is a good thing. It’s the type of energy that we use that is causing problems at many levels. For example, importing oil deflates our economy while potentially enriching those who may be hostile to our national interests. Global supplies of crude oil and natural gas are declining while demand continues to grow. Growing demand is driving air pollution to levels that threaten our health and the health of future generations. Dependence on foreign oil is becoming intolerable. It’s time to rethink the way we create and use energy products.

Rational Energies captures the energy stored in various forms of waste materials such as municipal solid waste (MSW) and agricultural residue. We convert these materials into high performance clean diesel fuel called “RE diesel.” We create a sustainable fuel, develop local economies, help our country achieve energy independence, and promote environmental responsibility. And we do it all today.
